What the Anagram Solver does

An anagram is a word or phrase made by rearranging letters. This online anagram solver turns a letter pool into dictionary words, puzzle answers, Scrabble-style plays, crossword candidates, and short multi-word phrases.

The tool works with eight dictionary languages: English, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Turkish. It ignores spaces and punctuation in letter-pool modes, keeps only letters from the selected alphabet, and returns matching words with length and Scrabble score metadata.

Modes, filters, and scoring

The solver has four modes. Anagram finds words that use every available letter. Word Finder lists every word that can be made from any subset of the letters, which is useful for Scrabble racks and word games. Pattern searches fixed masks such as h?ll?, where ? means any letter. Multi-word splits the full letter pool into 2 or 3 dictionary words.

Advanced filters let you set minimum and maximum word length, require words to start with, end with, or contain specific letters, choose the maximum number of results, limit the number of words in a phrase, and sort by length, Scrabble score, or alphabetical order.

What you can search for

Use this page when you need to solve an anagram online, make words from letters, find words from given letters, decode a scrambled word, generate anagrams, or get a word finder helper for a puzzle.

It also covers long-tail cases such as finding English anagrams, solving anagrams from a letter set, getting crossword pattern matches with unknown letters, looking for high-scoring Scrabble words, and checking whether a name, phrase, or clue can be rearranged into valid words.

Best practices for better results

Select the language before searching so the dictionary and scoring table match your letters. For ordinary scrambled words, start with Anagram mode. For game racks, switch to Word Finder and sort by score. For crosswords, keep known letters in place and use ? for blanks.

For long letter pools, Multi-word mode can produce many combinations. Raise the minimum length, lower the maximum results, or require a prefix, suffix, or contained letters to keep the result list focused and readable.

FAQ

Anagram mode returns only words that use every letter from the input. Word Finder returns every dictionary word that can be built from any subset of those letters, which is the Scrabble-rack workflow. Use Anagram for a scrambled word clue and Word Finder when you want all playable options from a set of letters.

Eight languages are supported: English, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Turkish. Choose the language in the tool settings before running the search. The dictionary, allowed alphabet, and Scrabble score table follow that language, so English letters should be searched with English selected, Russian letters with Russian selected, and so on.

Multi-word mode splits the full input letter pool across 2 or 3 dictionary words, then removes duplicate phrases made from the same words in a different order. Long inputs can generate many combinations, so the solver caps the result set and marks it as truncated when more matches exist. Increase the minimum word length or add prefix, suffix, and contains filters to reduce noisy combinations.

Choose Pattern mode, type the known letters in their exact positions, and use
?
for every unknown character. For example,
h?ll?
searches five-letter words that start with
h
, have
ll
in the middle, and end with any letter. Pattern mode is best for crossword answers, word-game blanks, and partial word searches.

The filters narrow the result list after the dictionary search. Minimum and maximum length control word size; starts with, ends with, and contains require specific letters or strings; max results limits how many matches are shown; max words controls phrase length in Multi-word mode; and sorting can prioritize longest words, highest Scrabble score, or alphabetical order.

Yes. Use Word Finder mode, enter your rack letters, select the correct language, and sort by Scrabble score. The solver lists words that can be made from a subset of your letters and shows the score next to each result, making it easier to compare possible plays.

Results depend on the selected dictionary, language, and filters. A word may be missing if it is a proper noun, abbreviation, rare inflection, slang form, or not present in the dictionary source. Check the selected language, clear prefix or length filters, and try Word Finder if you only need words made from part of the letter pool.
